SWING INTO THE NEW YEAR!

Our Fourth Annual Swing into the New Year at the Gulfport Casino was the biggest & best New Year's Eve celebration yet!  All 450 tickets sold out two days before New Years Eve, and those lucky enough (or with enough foresight) to get their tickets early enjoyed an incredibly fun evening of music, dancing, and celebration!  Sam & Allison started the evening by teaching folks how to swing it in the dance lesson.  In addition to the regular crowd of dancers, many locals came out to enjoy the celebration and get their first taste of swing dancing.  By 9pm, a full house had assembled and was ready to dance & celebrate!  The dance floor was hopping the entire night to a mix of swing and dance favorites, and people weren't shy about asking others to dance and about getting onto the dance floor.  Gulfport's City of Imagination spiced up the evening with decor, refreshments, noisemakers, party favors, and an art installation by Art Atak entitled Waiting for the Next Dance.  Toward midnight, the champagne poured, and everyone joined in the big countdown to 2007... ten, nine, eight, ..., one, Happy New Year!  Noisemakers... Champagne Toast... Auld Lang Syne... and people kept dancing and wishing each other Happy New Year all the way to 1:00am and beyond.  Hundreds enjoyed an exciting celebration to kick off 2007, and many said it was their best New Year's Eve ever!  We're already looking forward to swinging into 2008, and if you missed out this time, remember to get those tickets early!  The photos below say it all.  Enjoy!  --Sam
