QUICK REFERENCE

Start with dancers in lines or other symmetric formation.
You're going to dance the Main Section four times, once facing each of four walls.
After the final turn, you'll be back facing your original wall, the song will end, and you'll strike a pose (freeze for a few seconds).
Row numbers in the Main Section below correspond to 8-count measures of music.
All measures start with the right foot (except when you repeat Fall-off-the-Log / Suzy-Q you start with your left foot the 2nd time).
(X) Means a step starts on beat #X of the music.
See Practice Video, Take 1 to watch each move danced.
See Practice Video, Take 2 to watch a recent attempt at the whole dance.

PREREQUISITES — This dance has nine different Jazz/Boogie/Charleston Steps in it.  Experienced Swing Dancers & Lindy Hoppers will already know most of these.  If you don't already know all nine of these steps, you'll want to get familiar with them by dancing along with the videos below.  Get comfortable with these steps, and the entire dance becomes easier and can be learned in a single hour.  If you're inexperienced, the best thing you can do after studying the videos below is to get help from an instructor or an experienced dancer.  Everyone should take the St Pete Stomp classes, when offered, to practice the dance.
